simple singularities

Kurt Vonnegut Jr died today

i feel very sad  that  he was one of the great writer in 20 century and i learned many things including satiric humor from him.

my favorite phrase is "love may fail, but courtesy may prevail" in jailbird. nobody can’t express life simpler than him.

Rest In Peace, and see you~

it’s a very useful article for managing to-do list. actually if you know what to do, it’s not so difficult to do it. but if you forget, you can’t get what you want forever. i think you may need this article just like me :-)

fail rate problem

if you’ve got a good chance, and it’s fail rate is only 1%,
in other words, you can win 99% of cases, i think you should do that.

but this chance looks very small, if you iterate it again and again, the fail rate gets bigger

about 65 iteration, you can get 50%.
about 100 iteration, 63.4%
about 200 iteration, 86.6%
about 400 iteration, 98.3%

think before what you do, the world is not so sweet place.
whatever you do, you may fail someday.
(maybe insurance helps you.. or true everlasting love ^_^ )

i read someone’s article about memorating today. there was a big and successful terror in newyork, america, 5 years ago. that made doller and yen very weak, and that reason i earn more money(i earn by won and spend by yen). that’s the way the world goes.. no absolute evil, no absolute good.. it’s somewhat ironic..

aardvark

Aardvark is usually considered the first noun in the English dictionary, although some do precede it such as "aa" and "aabec".

The Aardvark is nocturnal and a solitary creature that feeds almost exclusively on ants and termites; the only fruit eaten by aardvarks is the aardvark cucumber. An Aardvark emerges from its burrow in the late afternoon or shortly after sunset, and forages over a considerable home range, swinging its long nose from side to side to pick up the scent of food. When a concentration of ants or termites is found, the Aardvark digs into it with its powerful front legs, keeping its long ears upright to listen for predators, and takes up an astonishing number of insects with its long, sticky tongue—as many as 50,000 in one night has been recorded. It is an exceptionally fast digger, but otherwise moves rather slowly.

Aside from digging out ants and termites, the Aardvark also excavates burrows to live in: temporary sites scattered around the home range as refuges, and the main burrow which is used for breeding. Main burrows can be deep and extensive, have several entrances, and can be as much as 13 meters long. The Aardvark changes the layout of its home burrow regularly, and from time to time moves on and makes a new one. Only mothers and young share burrows.

After a gestation period of 7 months, a single cub weighing around 2 kg is born, and is able to leave the burrow to accompany its mother after only two weeks. At six months of age it is digging its own burrows, but it will often remain with the mother until the next mating season. The Aardvarks can grow older than 20 years in captivity.

Cyworld US launched

they do the crazy thing again. everybody in japan don’t show any interest in Cyworld Japan. they just have got NO idea about the localization. they do the same thing they did in korea. hey, how could you do that? i even think it’s for the koreans in japan. of course, koreans in japan use Cyworld Korea.

but it’s too soon to judge, they even don’t start ad. (i really don’t understand why they don’t start ad. user no is most important in community market, not service itself.)

anyway, SK Communications is a rich company.  it’s a very strong point. they maybe the winner of community site, because they can wait 10 or more years till the market wants its model. but, you know it’s not a clever idea at all. it’s passive and pessimistic and almost pathentic. there were full of copy sites in korea, but all dead. not because cyworld’s system is cool, but cyworld has dominant no of users (almost every young people in korea.)

good luck~
