Here’s a roundup of what I ate around Seorae Village.
Library cafeteria
I went here whenever nothing else was going on, and the value for money is outstanding. But maybe because it’s so cheap, there were some days when the nutritional balance was a bit off. Not enough protein, that sort of thing..
Gimbap from a snack bar
It was just okay.
Mandu from the snack bar
One roll of gimbap alone isn’t enough to fill me up, so I ordered these too, but the taste was nothing special.. The problem is that once you order like this, it ends up costing as much as a bowl of gukbap.
Kimchi
There’s a second-floor restaurant called Wansingol, and it’s great value for money. Being on the second floor, I didn’t even know it existed, but since it’s such good value I ended up going there often..
Budae-jjigae
Decent enough.. It doesn’t taste like a specialty place, but these days the budae-jjigae at specialty places is so heavy that this style is actually fine too…
Lamb skewers
There’s a building full of restaurants in front of the Express Bus Terminal, and I ate in its basement. Decent enough.
Duseong Jeonju bean sprout gukbap
It popped up out of nowhere one day, so I gave it a try. The taste is chain-restaurant level, but this place is good value too. I guess the economy really is in a slump these days..
Goobne roasted chicken leg
So Choo Sung-hoon shows up in places like this too.. He must be making good money..
Goobne Gochu Basasak
This one is really spicy and crispy, a genuinely tasty item. It was so good that I wolfed it down, and I paid for it the next day. I didn’t notice while eating, but it’s seriously spicy and my stomach just wouldn’t accept it..
Regular fried chicken
Just okay.
Pizza
The pizza tasted like something I didn’t really need to order from Goobne.
