Wangbijib is a well-known place in Myeongdong. Koreans rarely have a reason to go to restaurants in Myeongdong, but on the flip side, when friends visit from abroad there’s really nowhere to take them except Myeongdong. The menu is translated, the flavors aren’t too strong, they put some care into the ingredients, and in exchange the prices are a bit steep… plus there are tourist spots nearby… So if you have foreign friends, it’s good to have a few Myeongdong restaurants figured out.

It’s pricey, but if you’ve come all the way from abroad and get to eat something done properly, it’s not such a bad price.

Inside

Neat and clean. The place was packed, but the food comes out fast, so turnover is fairly quick.

Bibimbap

The quality is good and the portion is a bit small, but since a small portion is what lets you order side dishes anyway, it’s not bad.

It comes out clean and pretty. This is the kind of place that can leave a good impression of Korea.

The duty-free shops are really the highlight of a Myeongdong trip, aren’t they…

That said, the online duty-free shops still give a bit more of a discount on prices… These days I mostly just browse online, and occasionally check the airport duty-free shops.
