Neighborhood Scenes in Shenzhen

After eating, I took a little walk around the neighborhood..

Scenery

Shenzhen street.

The trees are all huge..

The park fence

Shenzhen street.

The fences were something else. When I think of parks in Korea, there are lots of entrances and lots of exits, but parks in China have just one entrance. Once you’re in, it’s really hard to get out partway through. It seems like they built them that way on purpose, but if you wander into a park the way you would back in Korea, you’re bound to get lost.. I have a feeling it might be structured like that to prevent rallies and protests.. So I learned that before going into a park you really need to check whether there’s an exit on the far side, or whether you’ll have to come back to the entrance. Best to check on Amap.. Come to think of it, an iPhone is much easier to use in China.. On Android, Google itself is completely blocked so you have to use their own app stores, and a lot of apps aren’t supported..

Parking lot

Shenzhen street.

EVs may be the mainstream, but not everyone can drive only EVs, I suppose.

Weather

Shenzhen street.

It’s hot, but still better than Korea..

This kind of vibe..

Shenzhen street.

Sanxia Restaurant

Shenzhen street.

It looks like they might be pretty good, but there are a lot of restaurants I just can’t work up the courage to walk into alone..

Apartment buildings

Shenzhen street.

Seen like this, it’s not that different from Seoul..

Neighborhood scenery

Shenzhen street.

Just an ordinary neighborhood.

Apartment entrance

Shenzhen street.

I like the sort of 1980s-Korea feel to it..
