Biwon Tteokjip in Bukchon

I had some business in Bukchon, so on the way I stopped by Biwon Tteokjip, a rice cake shop.

The Constitutional Court

Honestly, I had no idea there was a place like this right in the middle of Bukchon until the insurrection case made me aware of it. By this time everyone had already cleared out, and it was back to its old state where you have no clue what goes on inside.

Rice cakes like these

The dutteoptteok is very popular.

Please ring the bell.

There’s a tiger painting too..

The packaging seems nicely done too..

Inside

Biwon tteokjib.

It felt like it might spoil rather quickly if eaten in summer, but the flavor is Korean-style with the sweetness of jujubes, so I thought it would make a good gift.. Freezer storage seems a must.. With a flavor this refined, no wonder it’s popular..

A bakery I found while walking

Biwon tteokjib.

It seems Artisan Bakers is opening all sorts of bakeries.

Bukchon scenery

So there are places like this too..

A restaurant

Cheong Wa Dae (the Blue House)

They say visiting will soon become difficult, so anyone interested should probably hurry up and go..
