Newly released headphones

Headphone prices are pretty steep these days. Compared to before, they’ve clearly evolved toward being comfortable even when worn for long hours. Honestly, there isn’t much room for noise cancelling or sound quality to make a huge leap from here. You could say they’ve been at the finished stage for a few years already. Instead, things seem to be moving toward better usability. I can see they’re improving little by little, but the prices feel like they’ve made quite a quantum jump. Maybe it’s the weak yen, though…

A lightweight stand…

This style doesn’t seem bad, so I’m leaving it here for the record. A proper laptop stand should be able to support it in a straight line like in this photo.

SHELLPHA mouse

Lately no high-end wired mice have been coming out… which leaves me a bit disappointed. I happen to like wired ones… But Elecom finally released a fairly high-end mouse after a long while, so I bought one, and although it’s bigger than I expected, it’s quite usable. It’s been years since the last high-end wired mouse… (It would be perfect one size smaller, which is a bit of a shame…)

G-Zero cushion

Surprisingly, there’s quite a variety of gel cushions on the Japanese market too. I’m someone who uses gel cushions a lot, but their durability is surprisingly poor. Why? Because I use a gel cushion continuously for more than 8 hours a day. If I’m going to replace cushions this often, I sometimes think I’d be better off just buying a Herman Miller and using it for a long time. Anyway, these days I’ve been looking for ways to get a similar effect with a chair other than a Herman Miller, and to replace mesh, a gel cushion is a must. But the cheap ones break after just 6 months of use… In that sense, a cushion this thick somehow looks like it would hold up well…

This is also a well-known model, but I don’t know much about it…

This is the even thicker version… But actually, a new Balance On cushion came out in Korea and that’s what I’m using now. It costs more, but the cushioning is convincing enough and the durability has been fine so far. Since it’s that usable, there’s no real need to buy one in Japan and carry it back to Korea. By the way… I was going to avoid the Herman Miller because it’s heavy, but if I’m spending 100,000 won a year on cushions, a Herman Miller might not be a bad choice either…
