Sky

Mangosteen and longan

Longan is a bit of a hassle to peel, but it’s delicious. It has a magic that keeps you reaching for more. Mangosteen is wonderful too, but if it isn’t ripened the shell is too hard to open, and if it’s ripened too long it rots, so hitting the perfect moment to eat it is tricky. It’s too much of a gamble to pay a lot of money for, so the best plan is to eat it while you’re in Southeast Asia.

Apple juice

So this is what real apple juice looks like.

Building

It reminded me of Monument Valley, so I took a picture.

Sky

The weather is bright and clear.

Mango tree

I think this was peak mango season. As you can see, the trees were absolutely loaded with mangoes. With a single mango tree in the yard, you’d probably harvest more than you could eat in a whole year.

Wedding hall

I spotted an impressive-looking building and asked what it was, and they told me it was a wedding hall.

Fuji Restaurant teppanyaki

The wedding hall comes with all sorts of facilities attached, so it’s a huge complex. Wedding venues seem to have a similar feel in every country.

Street stall

There are glamorous places, and then there are street stalls like this.

ATM

Why are there so many ATMs? It must be a country where the banks make good money. Looking at it now, I notice there was a Daewoo truck in the shot.

Snacks

There was a place selling snacks to drivers. Not that I was tempted, though.
