Mekonggang, a Korean Restaurant in Cambodia

Mekonggang is a Korean restaurant set in a converted old mansion.

The place

Mekong river.

It seems to be quite a popular spot.

Side dishes

Mekong river.

Neat and clean.

Samgyeopsal

Mekong river.

It comes out already grilled so there is no smell. I suspect that has something to do with how the restaurant is built.

Mackerel

Mekong river.

Delicious. They do everything well here.

Rice

Mekong river.

A little different from rice in Korea, but perfectly good.

Cheonggukjang

Mekong river.

This cheonggukjang is the real deal – it had a deeper flavour than most places in Korea. I kept wondering how they manage it.

Spicy galbi

Mekong river.

It was a bit spicy.

Ceiling

Mekong river.

The interior brings the French colonial era to mind.

Counter

Mekong river.

They sell kimchi as well, apparently. Honestly, somewhere like Cambodia looks like a place Koreans could happily live.
