Sammidang is a makguksu place in Yongin, but it seems to be better known for its mandu jeongol (dumpling hot pot).

Mandu jeongol

This was genuinely delicious. The broth is wonderfully clean and refreshing. The mandu are packed with filling too, and it’s worth making a special trip for.

Nothing out of the ordinary.

Gamjajeon

Pretty tasty. Be sure to order this one as well..

Makguksu..

The makguksu, though, wasn’t at that high a level when it came to the noodles.. it was fine to eat, but.. They have rice balls on the menu here as well, so it was nice that there’s something for people who want rice rather than noodles..

Overall I ate well, and it’s a place worth a visit if you’re out in Yongin. If the mandu jeongol is what you’re after, coming in winter might be the way to go.
