Scenes of Shizuoka

Here are some assorted scenes from Shizuoka.

A street of temples

Shizuoka scenaries.

It was a street with a certain something about it.

Ramen ABE’s

Shizuoka scenaries.

From the outside it looks like a temple, but it is actually a ramen shop. Imagine finding such a distinctive ramen place on a street lined with temples. The ramen is supposed to be good, too.

Temples

Shizuoka scenaries.

A mountain

Shizuoka scenaries.

A stream

Shizuoka scenaries.

Demigura-tei

Shizuoka scenaries.

Looks like an old-school Western-style diner. It caught my eye, so I took a photo.

The castle in Shizuoka

Shizuoka scenaries.

The castle turned out to be pretty big.

A bar

Shizuoka scenaries.

Nice atmosphere.

A wine shop

Shizuoka scenaries.

A street in the middle of Shizuoka

Shizuoka scenaries.

A dagashi sweet shop

Shizuoka scenaries.

Gyoza no Ohsho

Shizuoka scenaries.

Yakitori Akiyoshi

Shizuoka scenaries.

Looks like a yakitori place that is doing rather well.

Yamazaki and Hakushu

Shizuoka scenaries.

They do sell them, but the prices are no joke.

Sato, Maou and the rest

Shizuoka scenaries.

They have this kind of shochu as well. Good stuff.

Macallan and Yamazaki

Shizuoka scenaries.

Macallan 18 for 52,000 yen. Ah, I really do not know what to make of that.

Pikachu at Shizuoka Station

Shizuoka scenaries.

So there is an event on.

The izakaya alley behind the station

Shizuoka scenaries.

What a nice little alley for a drink. I suppose it only works because this is a well-off city.

French

Shizuoka scenaries.

It looked pretty good, is all.

Yakitori Nii-chan

Shizuoka scenaries.

The illustration was cute, so I took a photo.

Oden Umibozu

Shizuoka scenaries.

Coming to Shizuoka in person, I found there really are a lot of oden places, and a lot of people eating oden. It is much like gyoza being famous in Hamamatsu. In other words, this is not a manufactured trend.

An izakaya inside the station

Shizuoka scenaries.

Plenty of people were getting Shizuoka oden to take away.

A taishu-sakaba, an everyman’s drinking house

Shizuoka scenaries.

This one was inside the station as well, and it is really well put together. Shizuoka really is the biggest city in the prefecture.
