Fireworks day
There were so unbelievably many people that day I thought I was going to die.. I wasn’t actually out to watch the fireworks; I was running along the Han River and walked straight into an enormous crowd. I got out of it in the end and never did see the fireworks, but the sky that day was strikingly pretty.

Gotgan the bakery
It’s an unstaffed shop, apparently, and it has a good reputation. I couldn’t buy any bread that day for various reasons, so I’ll have to go back sometime.

Tigre Seoul has changed its name to Leepicheep. It doesn’t quite roll off the tongue. I’ve been keeping to a slow-ageing diet lately (the low-blood-sugar eating trend that’s popular in Korea), so I end up going in less and less..
Single malts at the airport duty free
It may be hard to see from this far away, but there’s Macallan and there’s Suntory. Macallan had redesigned the bottle into something that looks like a tablecloth and put out an 18-year.. at twice the old price, no less.. It had a whiff of “so, are you lot going to buy it anyway?” about it.. The Suntory is NA (no age statement) and the price is so-so, so there’s no great appeal there either..
Sky Hub Lounge
I think it really is time to give up on getting into a lounge for free. Unless you skip looking around the duty free and get in the queue the moment you’re through, the timing just never works out.. Mornings seem especially busy..
