Joongang Haejang, whose name refers to the hangover-curing soup it built its reputation on, was originally famous over by Samseong Station, but lately it seems to be opening branches all over the place.
Gopchang (beef offal) hotpot
Now that the weather has turned cold, a hotpot really hits the spot. They do not take reservations and I did not want to wait, so I showed up right at opening, and the food really is good. Honestly, though, Songgaok, where I went before, is tastier. It was just already fully booked, so I could not get in.
An extra portion of udon
They have a springy bite to them, so if you are going to eat this you had better get your apron on properly.
Suyuk (sliced boiled beef)
I ordered it as something to go with the drinks. This one is just so-so. Either way, it is not a bad choice for a meal around Gyodae; it is just a shame you cannot book. If I were younger I would simply wait it out, but at my age, well..
