Suntory Premium Highball Hakushu

With a series like this the first release is always the best, and after that it feels like they can throw it together and it’ll still sell.. Next time one comes out I’ll have to think hard about whether to bother drinking it..

Calbee Potato Chips, Aojiso (Green Shiso)

The chips taste of shiso, and it works nicely for summer.

Alfort Mini Chocolate, Crown Melon

Decent enough.

Chocolat Blanchul, Kami Banana

This one’s decent too. Bourbon really is a brand you can trust.

Donbei Wasabi Torishio (Chicken-Salt) Udon

Not great..

Takoman’s Milk Rusk

The milk flavour is rich. Takoman seems to know what to do with milk.

Sapporo Ichiban’s Dosanko Miso Ramen

The soup is rich and it’s good. Miso covers up most off-flavours, so miso ramen is hard to get wrong.

Kiyoken’s Shiumai (steamed pork dumplings)

The kind of taste you crave now and then, and miss if you go without.

Cocoris Sand Cookie

The design really is lovely. Hair made of a squirrel, no less.

Hidakaya’s Chige Ramen

Hidakaya is a cheap Chinese-food chain. This Korean-style stew flavour was surprisingly not bad.

Calbee Kata-age Potato Takumi

A miso-flavoured potato chip, and it’s decent.

Smoked Nagoya Cochin (a premium chicken breed)

There’s a bone in it so there isn’t much meat, but it keeps well and it was pretty good.

Beni Haruka Sweet Potato Chips

Not great. Apparently this takes some skill too.

Allerubi

It’s a generic version of Allegra – Allegra must be popular, because there are some seriously cheap generics out there. The ingredients are identical and the effect doesn’t seem much different. Above all it’s cheap, so it’s nice to be able to stock up on the value pack and take it freely.

Breathe Right

This is a tape that widens your nose, an item for when you’re blocked up. You could call it a good-sleep item. Trying it, it does seem to help a little. The problem is that it makes you look bad.

Jagabee, Fully Ripe Ume

Refreshing, and decent.

Soh Ice Cream, Rich Apple

This whole Lotte series is good. It’s especially good in summer, and this one wasn’t bad either.

Usukawa Teriyaki Hamburg Buns

This bread series has expanded and turned into a gourmet series. There’s moist meat inside and it tasted good.

Iwatsuka’s Black Bean Senbei

This is my favourite senbei (rice cracker). The price is right and it’s delicious. Honestly, there are countless premium senbei in the world, but even setting price aside, there aren’t many that taste better than this.

Rich Blended Cheese Kamaboko (fish cake)

A sausage with several kinds of cheese in it, but it wasn’t as good as I expected.

Kaki no Tane, Negidare

The green-onion-oil version of kaki no tane, the little chilli rice crackers, and it was a bit of an oddity. I could have skipped it..

Kaki no Tane, Ume Shiso

Shiso seems to go well with peanuts.
