The weather was hot and I had a craving for bingsu, Korean shaved ice, so I headed over to Jangkkobang.

I had no idea there was a shop by Gangnam Station specialising in patbingsu, the classic version topped with sweet red beans..

The sweetness was just right and I enjoyed every bite. These days, though, finishing a whole one in a single sitting is a stretch — my appetite has shrunk and it leaves me feeling cold. Patbingsu may be something you can only really enjoy while you are young.
