Tatsunoko Ramen in Hamamatsu

Tatsunoko Ramen is a place I like so much that I keep going back.

Corn ramen

Tatsunoko ramen.

They use fresh corn rather than the canned kind. I think that’s why it tasted even better.

Moyashi ramen

Tatsunoko ramen.

A clean shoyu-based ramen. When you stir-fry vegetables properly in a wok they keep a crisp bite, and that’s exactly what this shop’s ramen is like.

Miso ramen

Tatsunoko ramen.

An easy-to-eat ramen with the mellow feel of miso soup.

Yakiniku ramen

Tatsunoko ramen.

This one was pretty amazing. The yakiniku was more tender and sweeter than I expected, and really tasty. It was almost like a beef version of shogayaki. The broth and the sauce come together to create a whole new flavor. This, I think, is what a genuinely well-made ramen looks like.

Fried rice, large

Tatsunoko ramen.

I ordered the large and it came out double the size. They really are generous here.

Gyoza

Tatsunoko ramen.

Order a plate of gyoza as well and it turns into a full course. It’s a bit of a trek, but it’s a place I end up visiting whenever I have the time.
