If you know what Finnegan’s is, you will get the general idea that it is an Irish pub, but the fun part here is that this one is produced by Suntory. Look closely and you will see it says Suntory Highball. There are two restaurants run by Suntory inside USJ, and this is one of them.

You do have to queue a bit, but I went early so I got in quickly.

Maybe it is because Suntory started out in Osaka that they do collaborations like this.
The menu
Look closely and you will see they sell the Premium Highball, a single of Yamazaki, for 1,000 yen. Getting hold of Yamazaki stock is extremely difficult these days, so if a highball comes out at 1,000 yen, there is no way you can walk on past..
Suntory Highball
Ahh, this is good. They use the classic Yamazaki rather than something unusual like a mizunara cask, so it tasted like the familiar one I used to drink. The only shame is that a double would have been even better, but I could not be drunk from the middle of the day, so I ordered a single.
Christmas fruits mocktail
A non-alcoholic cocktail. Well, it is pretty at least. I was here to enjoy the park, and being drunk would rather spoil that, which is why I ordered it non-alcoholic.

Finnegan’s steak meal
This one did not taste bad, but thinking about value for money it was just so-so.
Fish and chips
This was pretty good. The fish was tasty and the batter was nice and crisp. It was a smaller portion than I expected, though.

They have this sort of thing too.
Onion blossom
I had originally planned to order just the steak and the fish and chips and then leave, but every table around me was ordering the onion blossom, so I pushed myself and got one. I had pizza as well, mind you..
Anyway, this is one enormous onion cut up and deep-fried, and I found myself wondering whether onions ever came this big. The coating was crisp, and along with the sweetness of the onion there was a little peppery kick to it, and it was so good that there was nothing for it but to finish the whole thing before leaving. If you came as a pair, ordering just this one would probably leave you fit to burst. Adding a beer would have made it perfect, but that would have wrecked the rest of the day’s plans, so I called it there. I thought I would like to come back with time to spare and eat and drink at leisure. Though for that I would probably have to live in Osaka..
