3Dae Samgye Jangin in Gyodae

There is a place in Gyodae that is famous for its samgyetang.

A place like this..

Samdae samgye jangin.

It is not that I dislike samgyetang myself, but I find it remarkable that Gyodae has a samgyetang place with enough regulars coming back to let them do it this properly. Maybe it works because there are so many middle-aged guys over at the courthouse.

Wait, isn’t that..

Samdae samgye jangin.

Plenty of famous people have dropped by, it seems.

Pine nut samgyetang, packed to go

They give you all sorts of things with it. It is not cheap, but getting looked after this well is nice.

The broth is thick enough to almost count as a soup, and the chicken comes cooked to just the right point for eating.. If you like this style it is a definite recommendation, though I can imagine some people preferring a clear broth.. (they seem to sell a clear-broth samgyetang alongside it too..) You wonder why there is a samgyetang place in a bar-packed area like Gyodae, but once you eat it the excellent taste makes sense of it.

Glutinous rice

It tastes good and it is restorative too, so I suppose that is why people love it.
