LEDAIG 18 Year Old, a limited edition with “wonderfully peated” written on it.
Ledaig is the peat-forward line made at the Tobermory distillery, and since the reviews were good I picked one up a while back. It comes stored in this seriously handsome, seriously heavy wooden case, so carrying it around all this time has been a bit of a chore.. and the case is too nice to throw away, so I probably never will..
The bottle
Apart from the low 46% ABV, this is a whisky with nothing to fault. Peat smoke that is strong but not as fierce as Islay, plus the soft Spanish sherry oak character you would get from a Macallan or a Balvenie, all fused into one high-level whisky.. Some people might ask whether peat even suits something Macallan-like, but if you go in with that in mind it drinks just fine..
Chuka Soba Haruchan Ramen
It is a famous ramen shop in Shinbashi that I keep meaning to visit and still have not made it to, and I guess it is so wildly popular that they have put out a cup ramen too. The taste was ordinary.
Eye drops
My eyes get dry more often as I get older, so I bought some to have on hand. They are not cheap, but buying online got them for half the price.. Anyway, since things start breaking down here and there with age I stocked up in advance, and using them later I am very happy with them. No need for daily use; a drop when the eyes feel dry is refreshing.

NOMAD’s titanium Apple Watch band
I bought it because it seemed like the best quality of all the Apple Watch bands.. The finish is not perfect, but it is still the best-looking design among the titanium bands. Part of why I bought it was a plan to pair it with an Apple Watch Ultra.. except I stopped wearing my Apple Watch after buying it, so the whole thing lost its point.. And I really do not get why Apple does not make a titanium band; surely it is about time they did..
Fitbit Inspire 3
Once I found out the Fitbit can check your sleep score, I have been wearing only the Fitbit lately. It is light and the battery lasts, so I am happy with it. The screen is too small to check notifications comfortably.. but even so, the sleep score turns out to be a feature I need. It would be nice if the Apple Watch gave a score too, but it does not yet.. and charging it is a chore as well.. A tracker feels like a must-have. Though if a slim Apple Watch Ultra ever comes out, I might switch..

With Peak Design you get MagSafe even on an iPhone 11. What a clever trick! The camera protection is a bit weak, though, which made it awkward to use.

Having tried MagSafe, it really is good. Being able to prop it up like this makes the iPhone a lot more useful.
