Chungmuro Jjukkumi Bulgogi

There is a jjukkumi bulgogi place in Chungmuro that has been doing well for ages. I had wanted to go, and finally got the chance.

One whole wall is Lim Young-woong

Chungmuro jjukumibulgogi.

Looks like it is their hobby..

The menu

Chungmuro jjukumibulgogi.

Jjukkumi and pen shell are the main items, and two servings run around 30,000 won, so that seems pretty reasonable.

The side dishes

When you are eating something spicy, bean sprouts are a must.

The combo

The pen shell is tasty, but the portion is a little small. The first time I ordered the combo, but ordering only jjukkumi gets you a lot more. Still, the pen shell was good.

Grilled through properly

Chungmuro jjukumibulgogi.

Grill it until it is nearly charred and it turns into the spicy, junky kind of soju snack that middle-aged guys love. If you do not cook it all the way, that junky flavor does not really come out. After a few rounds on the grill you start to get the knack.

At around 30,000 won a head you can eat very well here, so it was great value. I would like to go back again someday. Or rather, there are quite a few good places in this neighborhood, so what I really want is to open an office over in Chungmuro..
