I had some business in Hamamatsu, so off I went.
The sky on the way there
Hamamatsu has an air force base, so you see contrails all the time. They fly especially often when something like the G7 is on.
What Will You Do, Ieyasu?
There is a taiga drama running right now with Tokugawa Ieyasu as the lead, and they have put up this display in front of the station to mark it.
A rum specialty bar I snapped while walking past
Even out in the provinces you get bars like this. 160 kinds of rum, 50 kinds of tequila and so on… quite the lineup.
A street scene
A ramen place
Looks good, though who knows when I will actually get to go…
Japanese whisky
The number of Japanese whisky distilleries has shot up. There are plenty of them I have barely even heard of.
Gyubei, a Yamagata beef yakiniku specialist
A yakiniku place inside the department store. At lunchtime the department store was about the only spot around where you could get yakiniku.
The yakiniku karubi and harami set
It was decent enough, but being a department store, the price is pretty steep.
The yakiniku mix
This one was just so-so.
Soup
Nice and warm.
Dolsot bibimbap
Dolsot bibimbap has already been fully naturalised in Japan.
I had the lunch set, but the meat came up a bit short, so I ordered one more.
Rosu (loin)
These days I think this level of marbling suits me better than the really fatty cuts. All in all, a tasty meal.
