Milk Monaka
The milk flavour is fine, but the wafer is a bit dry.
Paul Bassett Milk Monaka
Much the same thing.
Baehongdong Jjolmyeon, chewy noodles in a spicy sauce
The noodles have that chewy jjolmyeon-style bite.
Cootiq Essential Jjajang
I cannot work out what is supposed to be good about it.. not quite jjajang ramyun, not quite jjajangmyeon, a bit of an in-between.
The Misik Bibim-myeon
They clearly know what they are doing. The noodles have a good chew and the heat is just right.
Jin Ramyun, BTS edition
Tastes exactly the same..
Nurung Z
I am not sure whether it counts as nurungji-tang, the scorched-rice soup.. it does have a warming taste, at least.. a bit of an in-between flavour..
Baek Jong-won Triple Special
The taste is not bad, but no matter how many konbini boxed meals I eat, I always end up feeling something is missing.
Toowoomba Ramyeon
Close to a cream pasta, but a ramyun with a bit of an education. Perfectly edible.
Pocari Sweat powder
Pocari Sweat is a little sweet for me, so I make it up from the powder and drink it diluted. It does not taste great, but it is less sweet, which seems fine for rehydrating.
Hanwoo beef-bone seolleongtang
The Sura line does feel like it puts some care into what actually goes inside..
Saewookkang and Kkang Beer..
Saewookkang Black works well as a beer snack, but the beer itself is just ordinary. You could drink a plain Cass instead and it would make no difference?
Thin-skin gyoza, packed and full of juice
The wrapper is so good that I eat these mandu often. When they are this good, you start to think there is no need to go out and buy mandu anywhere else.
Kim Buksun Keunnambi pork kimchi jjigae
Kim Buksun Keunnambi is on Garosu-gil in Sinsa-dong, and it is a place with excellent kimchi jjigae. I tried this at home and the taste seems barely different from the restaurant itself. There is a good solid amount of pork in it, too.
Joo Hyun-young’s bibimbap..
Again, that same feeling of something missing.. I am going to stop expecting much from konbini boxed meals.
4-Fruit Bibim-myeon
Tangy and not too sweet, so it is good.
Top Tier Kimchi Fried Rice
Fried rice normally means the frozen kind, so I was curious how you make fried rice that keeps at room temperature, and bought one..
The result..
Whether you can call this fried rice.. a gochujang stew rice bowl? Something along those lines.. Top Tier turns out to be a let-down..
White Chapagetti
Hmm.. I did have some expectations, and I should not have. If it had been called something like a Chinese-style stir-fried noodle rather than Chapagetti, the taste would have made sense.
Gimbap from Gimbapwang
I bought one thinking I would not get to eat it for a while, but at this point I eat it so often that there is no thrill left.. that is life, I suppose..
