There’s a place on Songnidan-gil called Ginger Bear Pie Shop. They call themselves a pie specialist, but it feels more like a brunch spot. Plenty of people were coming in, but I got mine to go.
The pies
They look pretty tempting.
Inside
Everyone puts so much into their interiors these days…
Inside
Inside
Honestly, when the atmosphere is this nice, coming here as a date course with friends or a partner is probably the right answer.
Takeout
The design is cute.
Meat pie
It looked good, so I bought one.
Here’s what’s inside.
I have this preconception that in the West a meat pie usually uses meat with a stronger smell to it, but this one is sweet like bulgogi, with no off flavors. Nothing to be afraid of…
How to eat it
Spinach quiche
This one looked really great too. And it tasted fine. But it crumbled easily, so it wasn’t the easiest thing to carry home. Some things really are best eaten in the shop…
