Pringles Black Truffle
Well now, look at this… the taste is pretty good. There are all sorts of truffle-flavoured snacks out there, and honestly, as long as the truffle aroma actually comes through, they’re all fine by me. The problem is the ones that put in a speck of truffle and still call themselves truffle.
Pure Potato Jagaimo Gokochi, Truffle and Rock Salt
This one is just so-so too…
The Fried Rice with Burnt Garlic Mayu Oil and Spring Onion Oil
The name is long, but it is basically fried rice in a cup. You microwave it and you’re done, and the taste is pretty ordinary.
Gold Bolognese
Everything in Seven-Eleven’s “Gold” series has tasted good, and this one is no exception.
This is what it looks like out of the microwave.
Honestly, I don’t think I could make anything better than this myself. The pasta being frozen seems to make it even tastier. It would go well with wine, too. I do wonder whether it’s really okay for this many delicious things to keep appearing.
Gold Four-Cheese Pizza
This guy on the packet feels like an old friend by now… and the Margherita is still the best of the lot, I think…
The view at Shiba Park
Mos Burger Potato
They call it Mos Burger fries flavour, but… well… turning it into a snack has made it hard, so it doesn’t taste like the fries you get at the actual shop. It isn’t bad, but there’s no real reason to go out and buy it…
Crispy Cashew, Maple Bacon Flavour
Just so-so…
Cratz Umashio Potato
Apparently it’s a collaboration with Kirin Ichiban Shibori, and it works pretty well as a beer snack.
Shin Gari Gari Kun Ultra Choco Mint
There’s a huge slab of chocolate inside, so it’s satisfying to eat. I still haven’t got used to choco mint, but this one looked fun enough that I picked it up.
Gold Margherita Flavour Potato Chips
Hmm… I wouldn’t say they really pulled off the flavour…
Adult Jagarico, Sichuan-Style Mapo Tofu Flavour
The strange thing about this one is that the mapo tofu flavour is reproduced almost too well… hmm… I’m not sure whether that makes it a good drinking snack or not… maybe it’s meant to replace rice?
Muginae’s Lu Rou Fan-Style Onigiri
Muginae is that famous ramen shop in Ōmori. This onigiri was tasty too. I do think Japan’s real problem is making carbohydrates far too delicious…
Potato soup (vichyssoise)
Well… I bought it because it looked fancy, but the taste is nothing special…
Gold Crab Tomato Cream, Rich Crab Flavour
Another splendid plate of spaghetti. Which means I have no choice but to keep gaining weight…
Takachiho Farm Yogurt
I thought it was plain, but it turned out sweet, which was a bit of a letdown. I should look more carefully before buying.
