A place called Yukgaeok has opened where Eonjuok used to be. Whether the owner changed or just the name, I honestly have no idea.
The place
So it’s part of the same group as Piyangok and Cheongnyubyeok.
The menu
It feels less like a yukgaejang specialist than a drinking spot. They sell wine too. Looking at it again now, there’s even a truffle fried egg on there.
Yukgaejang
The yukgaejang has Hanwoo beef in it and a good spicy kick. It’s clearly a cut above your typical franchise version. That said, I do wonder whether it’s worth going all the way to Eonju just to eat yukgaejang.
