When you’re picking sightseeing spots in Kyoto, it’s best to plan them around food. Eat something good, see something good… In that sense Heian Jingu is a solid pick — there’s plenty to look at and it’s close to the city centre.
A place like this
The plaza
Nice and roomy, so it’s easy to walk around.
The museum
It had rained the day before, but this day the weather was lovely.
An artwork
From inside
Quince
It got me thinking about quince liquor…
The torii
The shrine
Grill Kodakara
After wandering around for a while I got hungry, so off I went to the yoshoku restaurant right next to Heian Jingu.
