They keep releasing this genre of drinking snack, so I keep buying them.

“Guilt-Free Tonkatsu”

It’s a tonkatsu-flavored snack made from soybeans. It’s perfectly edible, and it works fine with a drink too.

This one, not so much. I do think Koikeya makes them better.

6P Cheese with Camembert

It’s the ordinary cheese they sell at convenience stores, but it does the job. Of course there is tastier cheese out there, but considering it costs twice as much, this is plenty.

Well, they did try to get close to the real thing, but there’s only so far you can go.

It’s 12% horse mackerel, so of course it tastes good.

There are a lot of curious things out there.

Jagaimo Gokochi Pure Potato, Okhotsk Sea Salt & Rock Salt

They put out a lot of flavors in this series, and I think this one is the tastiest.

Nangoku Shirokuma

It’s a kind of patbingsu.

Inside

Japan has shaved-ice shops, but Korean-style patbingsu is pretty much limited to Sulbing. Still, with shirokuma sitting in every convenience store, I don’t end up craving patbingsu all that much.

Sapporo Junren-supervised Chahan

The competition in frozen fried rice is fierce, so while Junren isn’t bad, it does leave you wanting a bit more.

Gyusuji Nikomi (simmered beef tendon)

This one is good with a drink too

Nikumaki Onigiri (meat-wrapped rice ball)

They say it’s a Miyazaki Prefecture specialty, but the taste isn’t anything special. It’s pricey, so there’s no real need to go out of your way for it.
