There’s a sashimi place in Yeongdong Market that’s famous for its raw mackerel.
A place like this
Apparently it specializes in live mackerel.
Now that mackerel is farmed, eating it raw has gotten a lot easier, but I never really knew where to buy it — and it turns out there was a specialist right around the corner.
A platter of mackerel sashimi
A platter runs about 50,000 won, which is pricey if you want to call it pricey, but the rich, nutty flavor is no joke. This isn’t even Fukuoka — I never imagined I’d be eating sashimi at this level here at home.
Grilled mackerel
The grilled one was ordinary, though..

Seafood ramyun
I ate well right to the last bite. This would be a good spot for a get-together with the middle-aged guys.
