Nihonbashi has picked up a lot of new places lately.

Sushi no Midori, for example

It’s the shop with the ridiculous queues in Ginza, and now one with takeaway plus a few tables has opened in Nihonbashi.

365 Nichi (365日)

365 Nichi, the famous bakery from Yoyogi-Uehara, has opened its second shop here, called 365 Nichi to Nihonbashi. Between Takashimaya and Mitsukoshi alone Nihonbashi already has plenty of places to visit, and it just keeps growing.

Since the annex opened, a lot of interesting shops have turned up.

Mandarin Oriental’s cakes

Just my own opinion, but these might be the most creative cakes in Tokyo. Well, there was no way I wasn’t buying some.

Well… it’s Midori, so of course it tastes good.

Raspberry and pistachio layered over and over, and the flavour is excellent too. I keep thinking Mandarin might be the only place that gets the design and the taste right at the same time.
