I’m a gukbap addict and I’ve worked my way through all sorts of gukbap, but the one that left the deepest impression is Musuok at Dobongsan. I’d happily call it the seolleongtang of my life. On a weekend with lovely weather I rode a Ttareungi all the way out to Dobongsan, and it turned out to sit right on the outer limit of Seoul’s Ttareungi docking stations.

Nothing looks any different from my last visit.

Seolleongtang

Once again I ate it completely satisfied. It’s packed with hanwoo in far thicker pieces than it looks from the surface.

This was right after the emergency disaster relief payments went out, and people were buying so much beef that they said a seolleongtang price hike would be unavoidable. But checking back a few months later, the price is still the same 10,000 won.

Samojip

This place had actually put up a notice about cutting its prices. I was tempted to buy some, but the weather was so good that I couldn’t guarantee it would survive the ride home, so I gave up.

Back on the Ttareungi..

Flowers

I stopped by Emart along the way, and the flowers blooming on the road there were bright and cheerful.
