Watching Ugly Delicious on Netflix, there’s a tuna pizza from Tokyo in it, and it turned out the place isn’t far from home at all. I used my lunch break to pop over.
The entrance..
I’ve been to Azabu-juban so many times, but I had no idea there was a pizzeria tucked away here. I went to the main shop first, but the line was way too long, so I came to this branch nearby — I doubt there’s much difference in quality.
Making the pizzas
They make pizza like it’s an art form..
This poster, too..
Well.. I already knew about it before I came.. but shouldn’t they be putting this somewhere more visible..
The lunch menu
Well.. I ordered the margherita, their signature. For 1,000 yen you get pizza + salad + iced tea, so it feels like an absolute steal.
The oven
Salad
Peach tea
Margherita pizza
This pizza is so, so good — partly because it comes straight out of the oven, but the dough has a salty edge that gives it a lovely balance. Whenever I eat something like this, I start doubting whether even a trip to Italy would get me a better pizza..
Inside the shop
Maybe because it’s a branch, the seats never even filled up. Looking at the dinner menu makes me want to come back in the evening, but for some reason I don’t see the tuna pizza.. do I have to go to the main shop for that..
The streets of Azabu
Tokyo Tower
Ate well and headed home.
