There’s a decent hoe restaurant in Gyodae, so I went along.
A place like this
Just looking at the sign, it already looks good. The menu is a solid lineup.
Sekgosi, thin-sliced whole small fish
And it’s fresh
The sauce
It’s packed with garlic, and that turns out to be the real treat. It took the sekgosi up a level.
Braised sandfish
There are places to eat braised sandfish here and there, but I can’t really think of one near Gangnam. It’s the kind of dish that comes to mind once winter arrives.
Mulhoe, cold raw fish soup
Everything is so fresh there’s no way it could taste bad. If my office were around Gyodae/Seocho, I think I’d be here all the time.
