There are two tteok shops famous for black sesame injeolmi: one is Gongju Tteok in Apgujeong and the other is Gureum Tteokjip in Bangbae-dong. I actually live close to Gongju Tteok in Apgujeong so I see it as I come and go, and word has it that even famous people buy their tteok there..The main entrancePretty modern for a tteok shop. Its rival Gureum Tteokjip does not have interiors this nice.Black sesame injeolmiYou really cannot guess how it tastes just from looking at it.Served out onto a plate..Oh.. chewy and nutty and delicious. It is not all that sweet either. I would say this is good enough to count as a tteok that represents Korea.I feel like it would be nice to pick some up if there were some sort of occasion, but these days I hardly ever meet anyone outside of work.. so I will file it away and put it to use later.
