I rode a Ttareungi (Seoul’s public bike share) out to Jamsil. Partly for the exercise..

A scene like this..

It was good weather for a workout.

Cheongwaok

It’s a sundaeguk place, but it’s fitted out like a proper Korean restaurant. Inside it was packed with families.

The tableware is handsome too..

What caught me off guard was how good the jeotgal (salted seafood) is. It really felt like a hanjeongsik place..

Never mind the presentation, which goes well beyond what an ordinary sundaeguk place would put out — the food actually tasted good.

This sauce especially..

I have no idea what they make it from, but it clings right to your palate..
