Just leaving a record of the drinks I’ve had over the past while.

Enma Black

Enma is a barley shochu from Oita and it’s great value. They sold it at Centrair airport in Nagoya, so I brought one home.

Enma Red

The flavours differ a little from one to the next, but they were all fine.

Enma Green

Tamdhu

This is the first bottle in Tamdhu’s Batch series. After this one came out it got popular and the series kept going. Good value, though I find it a bit short on complexity. I did like the strength, mind you.

Bell’s

A really cheap blended whisky — I bought it to make strawberry whisky. It has a slight peat note, so it needs a long soak before it melds in. It’s not bad on its own either.

Beer and a snack..

Both were just so-so..

Sherry Bomb

It’s a Glenrothes, but this time it was a bit of a letdown.

Maker’s Mark CS

It went for about 10,000 yen when it first came out and these days it’s around 6,000.. the poster child for negative premium. The taste isn’t much either..

Lagavulin 12 Year Old, 200th anniversary

Lagavulin is the truth. The price is reasonable and it’s cask strength, so there is nothing more to ask for. The peat notes

Tomintoul 16 Year Old

I bought it because it reviewed well online, and it tasted of green grapes. The world of whisky is a mysterious place. It really was delicious. (Online reviews really are the best.. especially Twitter..)

Something like this came out, so I gave it a try..

Doesn’t seem to do much.. doesn’t taste good either.. how is it any different from lemon..

Makgeolli tastes fine, but the next morning my head..
