I ended up going back to ORIENTAL HOTEL again. It’s a bit pricey, but the food and the atmosphere are good, so I keep going back. Price used to be a really important factor for me, but these days I’d rather spend a little more and be comfortable.. My idea of value for money has shifted compared to before..
MUJI HOTEL Ginza
It had just opened so I went in.. but I think the old MUJI was about 200 times better. The place shrank a lot and it’s split across floors now, so getting around has become a chore.. And it’s not like I’m going to use the hotel anyway..
And this is AKOMEYA
Their meal hours are pretty short.. so you can’t just wander in and eat whenever you feel like it. You have to time it right.. I’d like to try it someday, but right now I’m not that bothered.
Salad
It’s a huge place and it’s always packed, but when you order something, what comes out is the real thing.
Wagyu beef curry
The taste of money, I suppose.. For that price you get a curry loaded with wagyu that melts away as you eat. This is the sort of food you can probably only get in Ginza.
Curry condiments
Qu’il fait bon
I was walking past Qu’il fait bon for the first time in ages.. and there was nobody there?? How lucky is that.. So I bought some cake.
Cake
The seasonal fruit tart is the one true answer, as always.. it’s superb no matter when you eat it.. The strawberry tart was just so-so.
