A friend came over from abroad, and maybe because it was a Sunday, there were not many places worth going to. Still, I could not take him somewhere that tastes bad, so I searched hard and picked a place with good reviews.
On a fine spring day..
There were a lot of people at the entrance, so I did not take a photo. It sits right in the middle of Bukchon, so it is easy to find.
Tea comes out too..
I got in line right at opening time and was seated straight away.
And porridge as well..
Ganjang gejang (soy-marinated raw crab)
It was a friend I had not seen in a long time, so it would have been awkward if the food had turned out unremarkable, but this place is reasonably priced and the ganjang gejang was not too salty, exquisitely good. If you look around there are cheaper places with bigger portions, but really that only comes down to a few tens of thousands of won, so somewhere like this is far better.
Galbi
The ganjang gejang made such a big impression that this one moved me less.
Yangnyeom gejang
This one is decent enough too.
We wrapped up the first round nicely and moved on to Ikseon-dong to become hipsters.. and the friend who earns good money picked up the bill..
