Apgujeong Mandujip is an old-timer in this neighborhood. I waited until winter came around before visiting.
Front entrance
Given the crowds pouring in it makes sense, but there’s a second kitchen right next door.
Side dishes
It was packed, so we ended up sharing a table.
Mandu-guk (dumpling soup)
There are five in the photo, but they bring one more later. Apparently not all of them were cooked through, so they served part of the batch first… The mandu themselves are North Korean-style, with a wonderful balance of mung bean sprouts and tofu. No need to bother ordering mandu at a naengmyeon place after this… But the broth impressed me even more than the mandu. Clean and pleasantly spicy, as if soybean sprouts had been simmered into it, the kind of taste that would cure a hangover. I definitely want to come back next winter.
