Work has been so busy that it’s hard to set aside a date for drinks, so lately I’ve mostly just been drinking alone at home.
Tullibardine
Whiskyfun gave it a good score so I bought it, and it turned out to be great value..
Truffle potato sticks
It’s the sister product of the four-cheese potato sticks, and it’s tasty.. they really know how to make snacks..
Kyoraku Seiansho’s Hitotsubu series
A bit of a waste to eat as a drinking snack, though..
QBB Cheese Dessert, autumn limited edition with Kumamoto chestnuts
It tastes a lot like a Mont Blanc cake, so I brought back a few. Total bargain..
Seven Premium Gold hamburg steak from 7-Eleven
I liked this series so I brought some back.. as always, whatever you buy is at least solid.
Beef curry..
I wonder if any other items in the series have come out..
Amazon’s premium snack
Smoked and swimming in oil.. there’s no way this could taste bad.. Felt like it would go well with sake.
Ochanomizu Taishoken’s Kanda Curry Grand Prix winning curry..
This one was just so-so..
Enma, a barley shochu from Beppu
Enma is Yama, the king of hell.. what we’d call Yeomra Daewang in Korea. Despite the edgy, chuunibyou-style name, it’s a smooth shochu, perfect for a glass with dinner.
Signatory Un-Chillfiltered Collection Glenlivet First Fill Sherry
Bit of a long name.. but it’s exactly what it says: a textbook example of sherry cask maturation. No black-tea note at all, and after two or three days open the aroma got even richer. Great value whisky. With sherry-cask whisky, as long as there’s no black-tea taste, it’s a success.
