Good Eats in Sinsa-dong

I mostly work around Sinsa-dong, and with so many bars there, I often end up meeting people at the good spots in that neighborhood.

Somunnan Masan Agu Haemul Jjim

Shinsa gourmet

It’s a restaurant a bit off the agujjim street, but plenty of people come here and the food is pretty good.

Agujjim (spicy braised monkfish)

Shinsa gourmet

Decent enough.

Daily Beer (Saenghwal Maekju)

Shinsa gourmet

Just a beer bar, but I like the concept

Somaek (soju and beer)

Shinsa gourmet

And the portions are generous

Grilled hanchi squid

Shinsa gourmet

A good place to come for round two and have a drink.

Daeji Jeongyuk Sikdang (butcher’s restaurant)

Shinsa gourmet

I’d only ever walked past it, but it’s tasty.

Dureuchigi (spicy stir-fried pork with kimchi)

Shinsa gourmet

I had no idea the meat would be this good. I’d go as far as calling it a hidden gem.

OUR Bakery..

Shinsa bakery

Stylish, sure.. but the bread looks like something I’ve seen elsewhere, so I don’t end up going much.. Benchmarking is fine, but it lacks personality..

Yeonrip Ppang Gongjang (Yeonrip Bread Factory)

Shinsa bakery

The number of bakeries on Garosu-gil has exploded. Trends are hard to figure out..
