Izuru is a bit of an unusual ramen shop. It’s a niboshi (dried sardine) specialist, yet the line is long and they cap the number of bowls sold per day. But that niboshi broth… more on that below.
Inside
You have to wait in line a bit to get in.
Table setting
Regular niboshi ramen
The color is a little odd, but the taste is standard niboshi-style.
Rich niboshi ramen
This one is truly unique – so intense it’s actually bitter. Lining up to eat this… it wasn’t easy.
Aedama
You can only order it if you’ve ordered the niboshi soba; it’s sort of an extra serving of noodles, yet also a standalone dish like mazesoba. And this was really delicious. Adding raw onion to the rich niboshi broth balanced it out nicely, too. Honestly I wanted to order two bowls of just this. A new experience in many ways.
