Convenience Store Gourmet 201804

Here’s a roundup of things I bought at convenience stores.

Donbei Zenbu-nose (everything on top)

Conbini 201804

It’s all of Donbei’s famous toppings piled together, and the price is steep too.

A luxurious sight…

Conbini 201804

The taste was, hmm… good, sure. But with the beef and fried tofu in there, the broth gets a little on the sweet side. I guess I’m more of a tempura-only person.

Yurinchi (Chinese-style fried chicken)

Conbini 201804

Being able to buy food of this level at a convenience store… that’s still a tall order in Korea.

Top’s chocolate

Conbini 201804

Strangely enough, it really did taste like Top’s cake. Well… it’s not like Top’s is ultra high-end anyway…

Sumire fried rice, which I bought because I heard it was good…

Conbini 201804

But 7-Eleven’s fried rice is good to begin with. So I’m not sure whether this one is any better…

7-Eleven Gokujo Chahan (premium fried rice)

Conbini 201804

Cook this up and it tastes just like the onigiri and fried rice 7-Eleven normally sells.

Gratin

Conbini 201804

In Japan, even if you eat nothing but convenience store food, getting your vegetables isn’t hard.

Croquette snacks…

Conbini 201804

Hmm… these didn’t particularly taste like croquettes…

Coriander lemon potato chips

Conbini 201804

You could really taste the full-on coriander… There are so many weird and wonderful things here…

Buta shabu (shabu-shabu pork salad)

Conbini 201804

Perfect food for dieting. My belly has been steadily growing lately…

Chinese-style vegetable soup with gyoza

Conbini 201804

I was surprised at how surprisingly high the level was. It might even be tastier than what I cook at home. Just in case, I bought something similar at Lawson too, but it didn’t match 7-Eleven.

Pakuchi Pakuchi Ramen (coriander coriander ramen)

Conbini 201804

Just looking at it, the coriander… Anyway, this one tasted fine too. Coriander must be trending…
