This year a whole wave of new Pyongyang naengmyeon places has opened up. Being a naengmyeon lover, I’ve been to most of them.. Pyeongyangok’s concept is that they only serve sunmyeon (100% buckwheat noodles) and the prices aren’t high. The location isn’t exactly an easy one for me to get to, though.

The interior is nothing special.

Naengmyeon
Sunmyeon at this price! If you look at it that way, it’s very satisfying. Not having to go through the hassle of asking for sunmyeon when you order is a big plus too. Some places do it, some don’t, some won’t do it for a single serving, so getting sunmyeon is more complicated than you’d think. Considering they’ve only just opened and haven’t settled in yet, if they find their footing they could well end up as one of the decent naengmyeon places in the Gangnam area. I should visit again around next summer..
Mandu
The mandu was just so-so.
