I had a free day on the weekend, so I headed out toward Tokyo Station.
Yoroizuka cafe and bakery
Kyobashi Edogran, a new building near Tokyo Station, has a bunch of popular restaurants gathered inside, and there’s a Toshi Yoroizuka bakery too. It was novel enough that I snapped a photo..
A tasting at Liquors Hasegawa under Tokyo Station..
Single malt really is the best.. it seems to have the lowest odds of being a dud.
Soranoiro on Ramen Street
At least its line was the shortest of the bunch.
Veggie ramen
They say it’s 100% vegan ramen. I’d been hearing about it for ages and wanted to try it, and finally got the chance.
The noodles
How do you make ramen vegan? I wondered, but the soup has a sweetness a lot like Kagome vegetable juice. The vegetables are fresh, of course, and the thick, kalguksu-like noodles go with it nicely. A really high-level bowl of ramen. Though for people who like the usual rich, heavy flavors it might feel a bit lacking.
