Around Mt. Fuji there are five big lakes known as the Fuji Five Lakes, and a lot of tourist spots are clustered around them. There are local-food restaurants, hot springs, and the scenery is pretty gorgeous too, so it is a nice area for a getaway. Of the five, Lake Yamanaka was the closest, so I decided to go have a look.

Maybe it is the clean air, but it is a great place for a run. The thing is, I arrived late and there were hardly any places left to eat.

So I picked up something simple to eat at a convenience store.

It is a light tonkotsu-style broth, but really well balanced. I was surprised at how good it was.

Beer

A limited-edition Sapporo beer, and this one was a hit too.

Beef jerky x Wasabeef

It had that sharp wasabi kick along with a nice savory flavor. Pretty good.

The next morning

The weather was clear but there were too many clouds, so no Mt. Fuji.. Even right next to Mt. Fuji, seeing it is no easy thing. No luck that day. Instead I ran a lap around the lake.

It was slowly getting dark.
