Motsufuku, a Motsunabe Restaurant in Hamamatsucho

Had a few drinks at a motsunabe specialist in Hamamatsucho. Maybe it is just the vibe of this neighborhood, but for 3,000 to 4,000 yen you can eat and drink pretty well here.

Otoshi

They brought out some pickles. Nice for taking the edge off your hunger before the real food arrives.

Drink of the day

motsufuku

A pot-fermented shochu called Hanachokimushi. Drinkable enough.

Salad

motsufuku

The old guy always orders the salad first.

Motsuyaki

motsufuku

We ordered the grilled offal first instead of the motsunabe.

Grilled up nicely

Great with drinks

Gyoza

motsufuku

They come in a soup like mizutaki broth, and they are an absolute treat. This right here is the taste of Hakata.

Yaki udon

motsufuku

The noodles came out a bit early.

Grilled offal skewers

motsufuku

Good as a simple snack with drinks.

Fried potatoes

The conversation kept going, so we ordered one more dish.

A really good meal. If I had a friend nearby, I would want to come here often.
