Nomotoya is one of the three big tonkatsu shops in Hamamatsucho, along with Musashiya and Aoki. The line is on the long side, too. They serve tonkatsu made with Kagoshima pork.
The menu
The most basic tonkatsu is 1,100 yen.
I ordered it.
The quality of the meat is definitely a step below the other two shops. That is probably because it is the cheapest thing on the menu, and it likely gets better as you go up in price.
What sets this place apart is that you eat it with grated wasabi stem on top.
It is unique in its own way, but from now on I will go to Aoki. At Aoki you can get meat a notch better for about the same price.
