Those who know me know I love whisky. You could call it the final destination of a long gourmet journey. While gathering information as a hobby, I decided to go and check out a few good whisky shops. I always went to the shops around Ginza, so I figured there had to be something different out there.
First stop, Whisky Plus in Ikebukuro.
They mainly stock whiskies imported by Acorn, and they still had plenty of Acorn stock left. That day I asked whether I could possibly get hold of the Cigar Malt, but they said it was tough. Later on, miraculously, I managed to grab one of the bottles that came into Shinanoya.

It’s a quiet neighbourhood.
I arrived at M’s Tasting Room in Itabashi.
They mainly carry whiskies from Scotch Malt Sales. Lots of variety, and the big plus is that you can taste them. I drank a whole lot here.

This whisky was so beautiful that it made me see Clynelish in a new light. It’s one you can’t get hold of anymore.

The third place I visited was Tanakaya in Mejiro. I’ve been here a few times before.

If you ask the owner, he’ll recommend some interesting whiskies. He’s quite a character. It’d be even more fun if I dropped by often and became a regular, but it’s so far away that I doubt I could. For the time being I’ll have to be content with Shinanoya in Ginza.
