Near Hamamatsucho, which is linked to Haneda Airport by the monorail, there are two big hotels. One is the Shiba Park Hotel and the other is the InterContinental Tokyo Bay. Maybe because there’s a free shuttle bus from Hamamatsucho Station, a lot more tourists use it than I expected.
I’d heard that since the famous pastry chef Junji Tokunaga joined this hotel, the dessert level has gone way up. I was curious, so I went to check it out.
Roughly what it looks like
It’s in one corner of the lobby. They sell bread as well as cakes. Compared to the top shops in central Tokyo it falls a little short, but both the prices and the taste are decent enough.
Easter eggs
With a skilled pastry chef in house, even the Easter eggs are on a high level.
A tequila party nearby
Turns out it was an event put on by the companies that import the tequila sold in Japan. If I’d known in advance I would have joined in too, so that was a bit of a shame… I’ll have to go next year…
