Neurinmaeul Brewery, the makgeolli pub chain run by the Baesangmyun Brewery company, is so popular that there are branches all over Seoul. There is one near Gangnam Station too, and without a reservation you are looking at a one- to two-hour wait.

Fresh makgeolli, “Autumn”
It was good, so we kept ordering it until they ran out and we switched to “Winter”. I honestly couldn’t tell the difference.

This one was just so-so.
Fish cake hot pot
Not bad either, and the portion was generous, so no complaints.
We ate really well, drinks included, and it came to just over 20,000 won a head, which is outstanding value. Maybe that’s because we only ordered makgeolli. No wonder people line up for this place.
