Bansho, a Japanese Restaurant in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka

We arrived at our first destination, Hamamatsu in Shizuoka, and had a light dinner. The place is a Japanese restaurant called Bansho, the kind of countryside spot where all sorts of dishes come out together on one tray.

The beer was Kirin

bansho

Out came the autumn special, Akiaji.

Tofu

bansho

The otoshi appetizer

Tempura and sashimi set

bansho

A boat showed up. It costs about 2,000 yen, and the quality is decent.

Close-up

bansho

A pretty standard lineup.

Tempura

Side dishes

bansho

It falls a bit short of being a must-visit, but the atmosphere and the food are fine for a casual get-together.

Hamamatsu scenery

bansho

Scenery I shot the next day on the way to Tokyo.

Scenery 2

bansho

Like proper countryside, the air is clean and the views are beautiful.

Lunch

bansho

No time, so I just grabbed a katsu sando at the station.

Starbucks inside the shinkansen station

The full-on Tokyo posts will keep coming for a while.
